Baseball Finishes 1-1 Friday at Home

Marion, AL. - The MMI baseball team earned a split at home Friday afternoon to Lake Land College, losing 3-2 in game one and defeating the Lakers 10-5 in game two.

Game 1: MMI 2 Lake Land College 3

The Lakers held a 2-1 lead until the sixth inning when Marion tied the game at two runs apiece.  Lake Land scored once in the seventh and held the Tigers scoreless in the bottom of the inning to take the victory in game one.

Tiger pitchers - Blaine Milam, Chad Robinson, and Gabriel Nevala - surrendered five hits, three runs (all unearned), one walk while striking out two Laker batters.

Chase Hamrick, Samuel Farley, and Carson McGregory each got a hit for Marion with McGregory and Hamrick each recording an RBI.  Justin Bisharat and Farley scored the Tigers two runs.

Game 2: MMI 10 Lake Land 5

The Tigers bounced back in game two to take the lopsided 10-5 victory.  The Lakers scored first with two runs in the first inning and three more in the second before Marion's offense exploded for six runs in the fourth inning.  The Tigers scored four more runs in the sixth inning.

Matthew Duncan, Justin Bisharat, and Samuel Farley led the offensive attack with two hits apiece. Duncan also recorded an RBI.  Bisharat had a double, three RBIs, and scored one run.  Farley scored twice and had one RBI.

Also getting hits for MMI were Kolby Brannon, Alex Reyna, Jonah Todd, Carson McGregory, and Chase Hamrick.

Jesse Wheeler earned the win for Marion.  He surrendered two hits with one walk and two strikeouts.  Also seeing action on the mound were Dax Winingham and Andrew Mask.
