Tigers Get Two Wins at Spring Hill

Mobile, AL. - The MMI baseball team collected two wins at Spring Hill College yesterday, winning 11-1 and 7-6 in an afternoon doubleheader.

Game 1:  MMI 11 Spring Hill JV 1

Sophomore hurler Joe Hudson earned his second win of the season for Marion pitching three complete innings, surrendering just one hit and one walk in the victory.  Pitching in relief for Marion were freshmen Raymond Padilla Jr., Micah Agee, and Jesse Wheeler.

At the plate the Tigers were led by Samuel Farley and Jonah Todd.  Todd finished 3-for-5, with two RBIs and a triple.  He also scored three runs.  Farley went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.  Carson McGregory, Zachary Neumann, and Alex Reyna each got two hits for Marion. Reyna scored twice and registered an RBI.  McGregory also scored and had an RBI.  Neumann scored once.

Also getting hits for MMI were Blake Teel and Justin Bisharat.

Game 2: MMI 7 SPring Hill JV 6

Daniel Faulk, Andrew Mask, Chad Robinson, Gabriel Nevala, and Terrance Robinson all saw action on the mound in game two of the doubleheader that saw the Badgers take a 6-3 lead into the seventh inning. The Tigers scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull ahead of the Badgers 7-6.  Freshman Jesse Wheeler recorded his first save of the season to help secure the win for Marion.

Jonah Todd led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.  He also scored two runs.  Alex Reyna, Zachary Neumann, Carson McGregory, Justin Bisharat, Matthew Duncan, Zachary Seagle, and Blake Teel each recorded one hit.  Scoring runs for MMI were Dalton Pollard, Reyna, Neumann, and McGregory (2).

MMI will host Lakeland Community College for doubleheaders Friday and Saturday afternoon.  First pitch for both days is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
