ACCC Commissioner Visits Campus

Marion, AL. - The Alabama Community College Conference Commissioner, Dean Myrick, spent yesterday afternoon on the campus of Marion Military Institute, delivering his annual orientation brief to student-athletes and members of the athletic department. 

Topics discussed included the newest ACCC Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, sportsmanship principles and ejection standards, hardships and how to apply for them, and what it means to be a recruitable student-athlete.

"It is always great for our student-athletes to hear from our conference commissioner on the topics discussed yesterday afternoon, especially as it applies to drug testing and sportsmanship.  Dean (Myrick) has done a great job promoting our conference within the NJCAA and starting this educational forum for all of our member schools has been an added bonus," said MMI's Athletic Director, Michelle Ivey. "These types of discussions can only strengthen our conference as a whole."
