MMI Welcomes Chad Balentine to Lead Men's and Women's Cross Country Programs

Chad Balentine has been named head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs at Marion Military Institute.  Balentine comes to Marion after serving as the head men's and women's cross country, men's and women's indoor track and field, and men's and women's outdoor track and field programs at Barton College (Wilson, NC) last year.

Balentine was the assistant track and field and cross country coach at the University of Montevallo (2015-2018) and Birmingham Southern College (2011-2013) and served as a head coach at Bevill State Community College (2009-2011).  He also was a graduate assistant at NCAA Division I programs Troy University and Jacksonville State University.

"We are excited that Coach Balentine will be joining MMI this fall to lead our cross country programs.  We had several very qualified candidates show an interest in our programs here at Marion, but Coach Balentine's experience at the collegiate level really separated himself.  He came highly recommended to us and I think he will be a great asset to our department."

Balentine will "hit the ground running" as the teams will arrive on campus for training starting August 1 and then work on finalizing a meet schedule for this fall.
