Hey Tigers Fans!

We hope everyone has enjoyed a fantastic summer! It's time for MMI Athletics to get things started once again as our 2017 fall seasons commence this week. Baseball kicked off their fall scrimmage season with a victory over Wallace Community College - Selma Tuesday afternoon. They will host the Wallace CC Patriots next Friday, September 8, with first pitch scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Stay around after the game that day and catch the Lady Tigers softball team as they open the fall season by hosting Lurleen B. Wallace Community College for a doubleheader. Softball's first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Our four newest sports (men's and women's cross country; men's and women's golf) will start their fall campaign next week as the men's and women's cross country teams will travel to the University of South Alabama for the Azalea City Classic. As the only two-year college competing in this year's event, Marion's squads will look to make a good showing out of the gates. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for their ACCC/NJCAA Region 22 meet October 28 in Cullman, Alabama.

Men's and women's golf will both start their fall seasons with a trip to Cullman, Alabama to participate in separate tournaments hosted by Wallace State Community College (Hanceville). The men hit the links September 11 and 12 with the women teeing off September 18 and 19. Those tournaments will be held at the Cross Creek Golf Club.

Last, but not least, are the men's and women's tennis teams. Both start their fall seasons with scrimmages against the University of West Alabama (NCAA II). The men will travel to Livingston, Alabama first for a match on Saturday, September 9. The ladies will travel the next day, Sunday, September 10, for their opening match. Both start times are still to be determined.
