MMI Athletic Teams Nominated for NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year

For an athletic team to be named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year, the team must finish the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Four of the five athletic teams at Marion Military Institute have qualified for this honor and will be included in the press release later this summer from the NJCAA.

Men's tennis finished the 2016-17 academic year with a 3.48 GPA.  They were followed by the women's tennis team (3.17 GPA), softball (3.11 GPA) and baseball (3.00 GPA).

Although the men's basketball team did not qualify for the NJCAA Academic Team Award, they finished with a 2.70 GPA; that makes the athletic department's final grade point average at 3.092 for AY 2016-17.
