Meridian, MS—The Lady Tigers turned in another impressive performance by downing the Lady Eagles of Meridian Community College, 8-1, on Friday afternoon at the Northeast Park Tennis Center.  That score was reversed in the men's match as the Meridian Community College Eagles tamed the Tigers of Marion Military Institute, 8-1.

The Lady Tigers swarmed the Lady Eagles in the first two doubles flights, winning 8-0 at No. 1 doubles behind the strong play of Paola Bou and Morgan Ingram and 8-1 at No. 2 doubles behind the spirited play of Alana Larcombe and Bridget Mayfield.  Meridian's Kyra Holway and Micah Gray prevented the Tiger sweep in doubles with their 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Lady Tigers blistered the Lady Eagles in singles action, with Bou (6-1, 6-1), Larcombe (6-1, 6-1), Ingram (6-0, 6-0), Mayfield (6-0, 6-1), Makenzie Ralston (6-2, 6-0), and Rebecca Lin (6-1, 6-0) scoring the six singles points.

The two bright spots for the Tigers in their 8-1 loss to Meridian Community College were Harry Foster's 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and Isaiah Polk's 6-4, 6-0 loss at No. 1 singles to Jason Pimenta, the two-time Southern Regional JUCO Singles Champion.

MMI's men's and women's tennis teams return to Alabama to tackle Christian Brothers University at the Vaughan Tennis Center on the University of West Alabama campus.  First serves are set to fly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4.
