Men’s and Women’s Tennis Announces Fall Schedule

Marion, AL—The men's and women's tennis teams have finalized their fall schedules.  For the most part, they will compete against common opponents.  However, there are a few occasions when both teams will compete separately.

Both teams will take to the courts in a pair of home matches against Meridian Community College, a traditional power among the Mississippi community colleges, on Friday, September 16 at 1:00 p.m., and Oxford College, whose men's and women's teams won national championships in Division III of the National Junior College Athletic Association last season, on Saturday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m.

The women's team will complete that busy weekend with an away match at the University of Montevallo on Sunday, September 18.  Play is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

The crown jewel of the fall season, according to head coach Charles Wright, is the 2016 ITA Regional Championships, which will be held at the Northeast Tennis Center in Meridian, MS, beginning on Wednesday, September 21 and concluding on Saturday, September 24.

October will see the men's team visiting Alabama Community College Conference foe Gadsden State Community College for a 1:00 p.m. match on Saturday, October 22, and Oxford College for a noon match on Saturday, October 29.

To round out the fall schedule, both teams will play an early-morning away match against the University of West Alabama on Sunday, October 23, and a 10:00 a.m. home match with Meridian Community College on Friday, November 4.
